  • This Weekend's Bargains

Since we knew we were going to buy this house, there were a few things we wanted to buy: bunk beds, a TV armoire and a treadmill.  We have been looking for some good deals on these items, but since we they weren't things we needed immediately we were trying to be patient and wait for a good deal.

I've perused craigslist a few times, but have never bought anything through there.  I was always hesitant to e-mail or call a stranger.  But, as I was looking Friday night, I saw that a woman was moving and was trying to get rid of many items, among them all three things we desired at very affordable prices.  I went ahead and e-mailed the lady and we went on Saturday to her home not far away to look at the items.  And to make this even better, the treadmill was very high end, it was sturdy enough to hold my giant, football-player sized husband.  We've looked for one that we could afford for a very long time.

So, without further ado: our new purchases...

    The treadmill.
    It's in our basement.

    The armoire.
It's in our back room for the time being since we'll be painting and getting our living room floors refinished over the next few weeks.  (Fenway has a thing for getting into pictures.)

    The bunk beds.
Ainsley is sleeping on the bottom bunk until Lorelei is ready to move out of the crib.  Ainsley's been sleeping in a toddler bed until now.  Of course, we'll be removing the things from the wall before Ainsley moves to the top bunk.  We plan to paint their room lavender.

Saturday even ended up being a beautiful day with sun and very warm
weather, otherwise we wouldn't have purchased these things and moved
    them home.

God is so good to us, supplying our needs and many times, our wants.
I hope everyone had a great weekend, too.

  • I LOVE the armoire!!!  it's gorgeous.  The bunk beds are so cute, the girls will love them...I can tell Ainsley does already :)   I hope you have an awesome night.

  • Oh, wow!  That stuff is great!  I too love the armoire thingy :) , although I don't know that I would have known to call it an "armoire." :)   Your girlies' room is going to be so cute!  That's so neat that one person had all the things you needed!

  • God has a great way of answering our prayers in cool ways.  So awesome that she had all three items.  I'm sure she was thrilled to get rid of them as well as you were blessed to gain them!

  • Oh, wow!  What great pieces!!!  We have looked at Craigslist several times, but have never found exactly the right thing yet.  You guys did great!!!  Praise the Lord for such great deals!

  • The armoire is BEAUTIFUL, what a find. The girls beds will look awesome with lavendar walls. I just started walking everyday and told my husband come fall will we need to purchase a treadmill since Maine winters can be so rough. RYC: lol it takes a while to round up 8 kiddos all running in different directions. The hardest part though is getting them to sit still and smile for me.

  • Love seeing and reading about your finds!   The girls' room is adorable!  Their bespread is so cute and sweet.  I know your finds will be an encouragement to other moms and dads. : )

I'm so happy to have read about your baby now running. : )  God is good.  The way you describe her, she sounds so much like my Lea. : )

I tried to comment your site the other day, and for some reason, my computer shut down, and then a few minutes ago I couldn't get here, xanga must be doing some work.   Oh well, I'm here!  lol   I hope you have a wonderful day!   Hugs!
