I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. We had a very nice, quiet and relaxing one. My in-laws ended up not going to visit my husband's brother either, and they wanted to have Thanksgiving at their house, so we went over there for the day. I brought along a cranberry casserole, stuffing I made from scratch for the first time ever and a pie. We had a delicious meal and I still feel stuffed. We are truly blessed in this country to have such bounty.
Josh is working today. Getting paid triple time is a little hard to pass up and we are preparing for the possibility of a strike in our future; which will mean no paycheck for a time, of course. We are praying hard that won't happen. The girls and I are still in our pajamas, well, actually, Ainsley is in her dress-up clothes and is insisting on being called Cinderella today.
I wonder if I can get Cinderella to scrub my floors....
Did anyone get up really early and go shopping this morning? I've never done the get up really early thing, but I often go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. This year we have all of our Christmas shopping done, so I guess I just don't feel the need.
As you can tell from the new look on my site, I am ready for Christmas. I love this time year. I love what it represents: the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I love decorating my house, I love giving gifts. I think that's why I have that "no Christmas music, or anything else for that matter, before Thanksgiving" rule. I think I would have my house ready before Halloween each year. We will likely go get our Christmas tree tomorrow. That's how ready we are!
Is anyone else ready to decorate for the holidays or am I the only crazy one???

The kids were decorating this morning. And, I collect Christmas issues of magazines from tag sales and such--and we looked at them last night and this morning (mom and me).
I didn't get up early to go shopping, but we're on our way out the door right now. Rich wants to buy me sneakers. There are some awesome soy candles at Kohl's that I want to stock up on.
Love ya.....Shan
I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving! It's always so nice to spend time with your family like that. I like how Ainsley wants to be called Cinderella, I hope you got your floor cleaned to:)
We went shopping, we are the crazy people, we usually start today. Crazy I know! We usually put up our tree today, but we didn't do it yet:)
NO you're not crazy! I'm looking forward to decorating too! We're getting our Christmas tree today. I am even looking forward to getting more snow. However, I still have shopping to do. I love the sites new look and I'm glad you had a great thanksgiving day. Have a great weekend!
I used to feel "ready" for Christmas in July! I've calmed down a bit since then, but I always happily anticipate this season. We normally decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving, too. I love it!
RYC--Thanks for your sweet comment on my story awhile back. I'm glad you liked it! It was fun to write.
Merry Christmas! lol

I love to decorate for Christmas too. We usually start on Thanksgiving evening. The kids can never wait!
I saw you had a b-day. Happy B-lated Birthday. I just had my b-day in Oct. and it is my last year to be in my 30's (39) I can't believe it. I still feel like I'm 20
I love getting the house ready. It's so homey! I have three mini nativities on my mantel. We have an artificial tree (probably will until our kids are bigger, otherwise they would make a big mess!). I also have my long bookshelf decorated. Oh, and don't forget the red holly berries on the front door! "But the prettiest site you'll see is the holly that will be on your own front door!"--Happy Holidays, from Holiday Inn.
I saw that you stopped by
We put up our Christmas decorations Thursday evening after our guests left. That is a family tradition of mine, and I'm planning on keeping it up!
Have a great day!
Wow, small world! You're the second person I have met from that area on Xanga in the past couple of months. I met a girl from Byron not too long ago.
Nice "meeting" you too
Yes! I was itching to decorate this year too. We put up our Christmas tree Sunday night after we got back from our Thanksgiving travels. I wanted to put it up after Halloween, but I decided that I should wait. =)
Your page looks very nice, and I love the music.
RYC--You're right about Xanga not being high on the priority list. There's just too much going on! But Xanga is so much fun, I wish I had more time for it.
I'm glad you could see my layout. It was so embarrassing the last time I tried to change it without Kevin's help and I could see it but no one else could. Isn't that odd? I was going along my merry way thinking I had done a great job. LOL!!!! I'm sure everyone thought I was nuts. I suppose there's some truth to that, though. lol
Hope you guys are doing well!

I love Christmas too! Years ago before I was married, I worked in a medical records office at a hospital, and I had Christmas in July! I decorated the desks and went all out, but I think they thought I was crazy when I started playing Christmas music!
I'm so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. My family came down from Maine and spent a few days with us. The kids loved it. We truly are so richly blessed.
Your casserole sounds yummy, although anything I've ever made with cranberries my family doesn't seem to care for.
Cinderella... she is too cute!
