This is what we woke up to this morning.
It was an unexpected joy... especially for the three year old in my house. As soon as she saw the first flakes she was putting her boots on over her feety pajamas and asking me where her gloves were.
She played outside for an hour before I made her come in because it was so cold. (I did make her come in and put on a hat and snowpants at one point, too.)
We ended up with about an inch or so when it was all over.
Today I'm thankful for unexpected snow days and the little joys God sends to our lives every day. What are you thankful for today?

yes, it was so much fun for the kids and we get to smile at their joy! I love being a mom, it lets me experience childhood all over again!
how exciting!!!! I can't wait for our first snow!!! I didn't get this as a kid so I make a fool of myself sometimes playing in it!

The list of things that I am thankful for is extremely long! We have been encouraged lately to list in writing things that we are thankful for. So, I've been doing some thinking and the "short" list is--my Salvation, through my Savior, and Him only, My wonderful husband of 27 years--yes it can and does get better every year, my phenomenal children, who just like your two precious ones made messes and played, and loved snow, and who now are 21 & 19, and home for the thanksgiving! HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours, Cathi! I so hope you've had a wonderful day! We have! It's so good having our son home, but it's hard for me to get on here and visit! I do like your 'decorations'! I do need to get busy myself and make those holiday changes! Great photos ... I love the snow! We saw a only a few flakes here, but it is cold, so snow isn't too far behind! I'm thankful for God's presence in my life, for my precious family, and our health ... so much more! It is good to give thanks, every day, for all of His blessings in our lives! You enjoy your Friday, and weekend with your family ... I plan to, as well!

We got some snow that week too, although with the sniffles going around our house then Abby didn't go out to play in it. She has loved watching the little flurries we have gotten though, and we are supposed to get some snow tomorrow too. Ainsley makes me smile!
